Raspberry Pi Setup
« on: June 16, 2022, 12:33:19 PM »
I'm in the process of setting up a Raspberry Pi to send ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast) data to FlightRadar24 in Sweden.

One step closer to the final setup...

1. Assembled the Pi
2. Flashed a Mushkin USB flash drive with the Raspberry Pi OS
3. Connected a keyboard, mouse and monitor for an easy setup
4. Updated the Pi
5. Changed the default password
6. Set a Reserved IP for the Pi
7. Setup/Tested SSH (Secure Shell) to log in remotely with a terminal using Putty (Portable App) in Windows and also Windows Terminal
8. Setup/Tested VNC (Virtual Network Computing) graphical desktop-sharing system using a standalone VNC Viewer in Windows
9. Setup/Tested SSH and VNC on macOS and Ubuntu Mate Linux
10. Just for proof of concept... Setup/Tested VNC on my 12.9" iPad Pro

Future items to-do:
1. Erect outside antenna with cabling (terminating with a USB cable going from my garage into my office and connecting to the Pi)
2. Setup the FlightRadar24 configuration on the PI

Here's an accumulation of links for information and purchasing of SDR components.
