Notes for the SLO Bytes Photo Group Meeting of 09/06/2024
« on: September 09, 2024, 02:01:30 PM »
Hello All,
Here are my Notes for the SLO Bytes Photo Group Meeting of 09/06/2024
TOPIC: Learn and Share

Ralph Sutter opened the meeting displaying images shot with his Samsung Galaxy S22. Sutter focused on food that he had prepared and photographed with the Food feature of the Samsung software. He struggled showing photos of his kayaking trip to the San Juan Islands, finally managing to share those images after other members of the group showed their photos.

Alan Raul shot exclusively with the Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 Macro G OSS II Lens to become more familiar with its strong points and limitations. Most pictures were shot at the Avila Beach third pier with a few in Shell Beach area where it was very foggy. His subjects included squirrels, seals and boats.

Kaye Raul was excited to share recent updates in Adobe Lightroom that allowed her to erase and manipulate images without having to call up Adobe Photoshop.

John Waller lamented recent changes to the YouTube algorithm that misclassified Photoshop images as music content. He then demonstrated how to quickly remove a complex background with selective use of the Photoshop eyedropper.

Stanford Brown explored the advanced photo features of his Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra phone with examples that used the features Expert Raw, Food, Panorama, Slow Montion, Hyperlapse, Portrait Video and Director's View.

The topic for October 13th will be a reprise of our previous session; Learn a Skill and Share It with the Group.
The meeting will take place via Zoom beginning at 2:00 pm,
The meeting schedule for the remainder of 2024 is as follows:
  November 10
  December 8
