Hello All,
I am planning a kayaking trip down the Willamette River in Oregon and used
Google Earth Pro to annotate the route.
I now want to share this information with a prospective paddling partner.
I do this by locating the
myplaces.kml file where my waypoints are saved.
On a Windows computer, hold down the
Windows key and then press
rThis will open the Terminal. When it opens, paste in the line of text below
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Google\GoogleEarthThat will open Windows Explorer to the folder containing myplaces.kml
I will copy that file and e-mail it to my prospective paddling partner.
I will then instruct him to open
Google Earth Pro (not
Google Maps)In GEP, go to Files/Import and navigate to where myplaces.kml was saved
If that file isn't visible, make sure that
All Files extension (*.*) is chosen.
Importing
myplaces.kml will place it in the
Temporary Places/default_my_places folder
When default_my_places folder is open it will display all of my notes/waypoints
