Hello All,
What follows is my SLO Bytes Photo Group Report for June 11, 2023
TOPIC: Boats
Ralph Sutter opened the meeting with a series of images shot at the Morro Bay Harbor before heading up the coast to above Cayucos. There, he shared numerous pictures of the Point Estero, a wrecked commercial fishing boat on the rocks of Estero Bluffs. Ralph used a Zeiss FE 35mm F2.8 ZA primary lens on a Sony A7IV camera
Alan Raul shot images of boats at Baywood Park in Los Osos and Morro Bay. He chose to only show original JPGs from his Sony A7iv camera WITHOUT any modifications. Last month he shot all his photos with a Sony 35mm F2.8 lens. This month he shot with his Sony 24 - 70 F4.0 lens trying to only shoot at 28mm. He found that about 80% of the pictures could be shot at 28mm. He has a new Sony 28mm F2.0 arriving this week.

John Waller visited Lopez Lake focusing on boats seen at the Marina and in Mallard Cove. The then moved to Morro Bay and captured the harbor dredge and Coast Guard self-righting rescue boats. Using his new
Canon EOS R6 Mark2 camera, John shot a hawk perched in a tree and then cropped the image severely while still presenting a tack-sharp photo.
Stanford Brown took us on a round the world tour of boats ranging from canal boats in Italy to freighters from Argentina, tug boats in Alaska and junks in Hong Kong before returning to local waters
