Windows 11 Professional 22H2 and Macrium Reflect License Issue
« on: October 04, 2022, 12:11:10 PM »
I have not been offered Windows 11 Professional 22H2 on my Clevo laptop. I decided to manually install the upgrade.

STEPS:
Created a incremental backup of Windows 11 using Macrium Reflect (licensed)
Installed Windows 11 Professional 22H2 from the Windows11InstallationAssistant.exe
Rebooted and everything worked AOK
Updated the new installation
Opened Macrium Reflect to create an incremental backup
Macrium Reflect would not create a incremental backup because I was in trial mode and not a licensed user
There was no option to remove the Macrium Reflect license
Using the Macrium Reflect Rescue Media I restore the previous incremental backup of Windows 11
Opened up Macrium Reflect and removed the license from my Clevo laptop
Installed Windows 11 Professional 22H2 from a USB flash drive as "local Account."
Updated the new installation
Installed Macrium Reflect and put in my key for the Clevo laptop
Macrium Reflect now stated I was a licensed user
I did a clean Ubuntu Mate 22.04.1 installation

Take away from this computing experience:
This is the second time I have used Macrium Reflect to restore from an incremental backup since it was purchased in November 2021. It worked flawlessly and FAST!
It was time to do a "clean install" as this was the original 2019 Windows installation.
Although this laptop is not used as much as in the past I wanted to take the time to get it squeaky clean.
