8/11/2020 Win 10 Updates
« on: August 11, 2020, 03:20:46 PM »
Well, everything seemed to go fine on today's two Win 10 V 2004 updates, that is until after the Restart when I entered my pin, the main desktop appeared and all looked normal.  Then I soon realized that just as in the V2004 install and Restart, everything was locked up, that is, nothing responded to my clicks. Finally, I did the same thing I did after that freeze up. I did a cold shut down, and restarted the computer. This time when it came up all behaved normally. All seems fine now.

Does anyone else have this happening, or know what I can do to fix it? Should I have gone into the UEFI for a fix? I will now try for a normal shutdown and startup.

Everything worked fine and normally. So what can I do about the post Windows update lockup?

Changing any settings in UEFI will do nothing to fix your issue.

What I have found is the restart button appears even when one of the updates is still installing. I wait for all updates to finish before clicking the restart button.

Make sure you have a current system backup before the next update.

If this continues after the next update you will have to dig deeper.
