I’m not sure what I’ll do with my third Raspberry Pi but I’m curious to see the vast improvements in the 4th generation.

These look interesting and are certainly inexpensive.  My question is, given their limitations, what do you find them useful for?

Hi Dick,
I can use the Raspberry Pi 4 to browse the web.  It comes with Chromium pre-installed.
It’s based on Linux Debian so lots of free software is available including LibreOffice.
I loaded the 64Gb SD card with four boot options
   Raspbian Full – a port of Debian with desktop and recommended software
   Raspberry Pi Full (32 bit) - “  “
   LibreELEC – Minimum install designed for running the KODI Entertainment Center and                                      SAMBA
   Raspberry Pi Minimum Install
I set up LibreELEC to load content from my main server
I can print to my network printers, access my NAS devices and store data.

I bought a kit that included a USB keyboard and mouse.  The keyboard has 3 USB 2.0 ports built in
This is in addition to 2 USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.1 ports and a USB-C port.
Yesterday, I hooked up two monitors to the computer.  The kit came with one micro HDMI to Full HDMI cable.  I got another one with my purchase of the 13” monitor

The Raspberry Pi has a robust support network and how-to documentation for doing everything from setting up a data base to creating a video surveillance system.

I will never get around to exploring all of the machine’s capabilities but I’m confident that I’ll have a lot more fun with this $200+ purchase than I’ve had with much more costly computers.

Hi Ralph,

Thanks for the great update on Raspberry Pi. I considered it to be potentially useful if a person had two desktop setups at different locations and simply carried the Pi in their pocket. It could be quickly connected at either location and booted up from each. Its too appealing a device not to at least be intriguing. Very cost effective, as well.
