Hello All,
At the SLO Bytes General Session of 10/06/2019, I spoke about the after market products that I used when replacing the toner/cartridges on my printers.
For my Brother HL 2270DW monochrome laser printer, I use
https://tonerrefillkits.com/ Their toner refill kit includes very detailed refilling instructions that are specific to each printer model.
When I need refills for my Brother MFC-J870DW color inkjet printer, I purchase cartridges from
https://www.77ink.com/.
Both retailers offer products for many makes and models of printers.
Printer manufacturers often warn of dire consequences if users install off-brand replacement ink supplies. If one switches, he or she voids the manufacturer's warranty. I ignore the warning for two reasons. My printers warranty has already expired. Besides, It is often less costly to replace the out of ink printer than it is to install new OEM cartridges.
I offer one caveat. If you decide to refill your toner cartridge with a product from Toner Refill Kits, you must make sure that the original toner chamber is empty. You shouldn't mix toner brands. When you refill the toner chamber the second time with the same after market toner, the chamber doesn't have to be absolutely empty.
