Title: Good, safe site for doing program updates

I needs to update Irfan View and a few other programs that do not include their own updating programs.  What are a couple of really good safe sites for updating programs that do not include their own updating programs?

I have Irfanview, 32 bit and plugins.  I need to update.  Should I go to 64 bit or stay with 32 bit? 32 bit has been O.K. What is the advantage of 64 bit?

I run both on my machines
Only the 32 bit Irfanview allows me to launch my Brother scanner (Irfanview/File/Acquire/Batch Scanning)

After a couple of try's I finally successfully downloaded the 32 bit IrfanView and current Plug Ins from Majorgeeks, a source I used to use successfully. Thanks for the help.
