Slideshow Created with Irfanview
« on: July 06, 2020, 08:50:24 AM »
Hello All,
I attempted to show some of the capabilities of the PC freeware program, Irfanview; www.irfanview.com, at the SLO Bytes General Meeting of 07/05/2020.
My poor Internet connection didn't allow me to demonstrate many of the program's features.
I had hoped to show how I created a slideshow with Irfanview that included titled slides, a music sound track as well as video and still images.
When I didn't have the bandwidth to do that, I was forced to only describe the process.
Today, I uploaded that slideshow to YouTube.
View it at https://youtu.be/AkYGcBizTuU
What you see is a video screen capture of that slideshow.  Irfanview allows the user to create the slideshow that I describe above and save it as an .exe file.  One could then copy that .exe file to removable media and share it with others.
It would play on any PC computer as a self-contained program.
If the end user were interested in extracting the separate images/files of the slideshow, he or she would simply begin running the .exe file and then type e
That would extract the images/files to wherever the user wished.
